Director of Supply Chain Automation

We have successfully completed this engagement.
The ultimate supply-chain management job.

If you’re a supply-chain management wizard looking for an exceptionally timely and worthwhile opportunity to show your stuff on a global scale, I have an early stocking-stuffer just for you.

We recently introduced you to a fantastic new Peckman Search Partners client – Kent-based AMMEX, a distributor of disposable gloves and barrier-protection products. While the company has been around since 1988 – and has served customers across a wide range of sectors, including automotive, manufacturing, and food – it is currently experiencing stratospheric growth due to demand for medical PPE during the coronavirus pandemic.

The company’s sales growth has been so explosive that it’s expecting to hit $1 billion in revenue within just a year and a half – a threshold it had previously planned to hit about five years from now.

As you might imagine, such an extraordinary increase in sales presents some serious supply-chain challenges, particularly for a company with customers and operations across North America, Asia, and Europe.

To coordinate it all, AMMEX is looking for a Director of Supply Chain Automation, reporting to the company’s Chief Supply Chain Officer. This directorship entails managing a team – a role that AMMEX, to its credit, takes very seriously. But in addition to an excellent “people manager,” the company is looking for a seasoned, highly detail-oriented expert in supply-chain automation.

“This new role is critical to building AMMEX capabilities to support the transformative growth we are experiencing,” the company says. “This individual will be a technology visionary with the ability to define our future business processes and the experience to drive supply chain excellence throughout the organization.”

More specifically, AMMEX is looking for someone with proven strategic and tactical leadership in logistics automation, on both the hardware and the software sides of an operation. The position entails creating an end-to-end automation roadmap and simultaneously managing multiple programs – including implementation of automation software for order management, warehouse oversight, reverse logistics, and other supply-chain functions.

For this role, AMMEX seeks at least ten years of relevant leadership experience, including management in a rapidly growing enterprise. Leadership in a LEAN/Six Sigma/Total Quality Management environment is a huge plus, especially if that leadership is demonstrated with a Black Belt or Green Belt certification.

This is an amazing opportunity for a true supply-chain wizard who is comfortable with a high-growth, fast-paced global operation. Act fast – if the response to our last AMMEX posting is any indication, you do not want to dawdle on this one.

PS From PSP: I have a sneaking suspicion that AMMEX is hardly the only company here in the Pacific Northwest that is experiencing a growth surge as a result of the pandemic. If your company is trying to manage the challenge of recruiting enough high-quality talent to meet rising demand, we at Peckman Search Partners are here to help. If you’d like to set up a conversation, just let me know! ###
