We recently mentioned in this space that PCC had banged it out of the park with its hiring of Susan Livingston as its new Vice President of Marketing + Purpose. Now we’re back to let you know of another highly innovative and mission-driven Pacific Northwest company that has similarly come up aces with its Marketing VP pick.
That company is Redmond-based Pushpay, which provides software tools for a broad client base that includes many nonprofits and faith-based organizations. It’s a deeply community-oriented, connection-minded business – and they definitely found a kindred spirit in Angelique Rothermel, whom they tapped for this most recent opening.
Angelique has a background that fits both main aspects of Pushpay’s distinctive culture: service of worthy causes and fast-paced tech innovation.
For the past five years, she has worked as executive director for brand and communication at World Vision, a remarkable global-based Christian relief and development organization that focuses on helping the world’s poorest and most marginalized children gain a better start in life.
On World Vision’s website, a timeline showing the great work it has been doing since its founding in the 1950s is topped by this terrific headline: “When you go too far for the vulnerable and the ignored … beautiful things happen.”
We need far more of that ethos in today’s world, and it’s heartening to see people who possess it enter into positions of influence in the tech sector. It’s an industry Angelique knows well; prior to her tenure at World Vision, she was an executive vice president at The Shand Group down in LA, where she collaborated with client executives on complex questions of marketing and branding.
In short, it’s another great hire for another great regional company, and we are once again deeply honored to be a part of it all. Congratulations, Angelique – and congratulations, Pushpay!
